Collection 2000: Glam Crystals Gel Liners

I received these 3 eyeliners from my wonderful best friend for Christmas amidst a load of other lovely goodies (yes, im aware Christmas was quite some time ago now but rest assured i've used these for every night out and any other outing which has called for a sprinkling of glitter ever since..) She picked out three colours i most probably would have chosen myself (oh she knows me so well..), a lovely aqua/turquoise shade in 'Le Freak', a very wearable black version in 'Rock Chick', and a very sparkly multi-coloured one in the shade 'Va Va Voom'. This, as you can imagine, caused muchos indecisive-ness over the party season as to which one to wear.. How i love being spoilt for choice.

The first shade is in 'No.5 - Le Freak' which is a beautiful turquoise blue colour and is my personal favourite of the three. I usually find glitter-liners to be lacking in pigment but this one is as bright as it looks in the tube and provides instant colour pay off. I usually apply this below the lower lash-line for a pop of colour. Ive even worn this in the day; used sparingly and worn with subtle eye makeup it can look really flattering for daytime.

Shade No.7 is 'Rock Chick' which is the most wearable of the three. I apply my usual eyeliner first and then apply this over the top for a more intense black but it looks lovely worn on its own for a more subtle smokey eye. I really like the fact that it isn't a solid black glitter formula as it also contains silver shimmers - it seems to catch the light more.

The third shade is 'No 13 - Va Va Voom' which is a lovely mix of pink, green, blue and purple glitter. I really had high hopes for this one however i found this one to be the least pigmented of the three (although it's not necessarily a bad thing as i tend to go a bit 'glitter-overload' when somebody gives me anything sparkly!) I love the colour but it does take some building up compared to the others.

The fact that they haven't skimped on glitter means that it is easy to obtain a solid glittery line, and some colours (the aqua colour inparticular) actually have a pigmented gel rather than just being a clear liquid.

Overall i really like the Glam Crystals. At an affordable price, you get a lot of product and the pigmentation is impressive and buildable - which other glitter products often struggle to deliver.  I like the fact that you can cleary see the colours in the tube as they're easy to pick out of my make up storage when i need them. The liner brush is also of a really handy size and allows for precision in application - they can get a little overloaded but it's to be expected with a glittery-formula and it's nothing that a bit of tissue won't sort! I already have my eye on the purple version and the very wearble gold/bronze shade..

Have you tried any of the Glam Crystals?
