Autumn Shade of Red: Barry M 'Rasperry'

Hey everyone. I've really not had the best of days today. Nothing majorly bad has happened, it's just been one of those days where all you want is your bed. A general 'meh' day. Here's a few reasons why:

1. I had a bad hair day
2. To make this even worse, i got rained on. Bad hair day + rain = even worse bad hair day of epic proportions.
3. My bus was late. As always. I hate my buses. They're never on time.
4. My ears are hurting from listening to lessons/lectures all day.
5. Ive lost my favourite pink umbrella

But its all ok. I'm sat on the sofa - just me and my blog and a family packet of bacon fries...

So i thought i'd do a quick post on my new addition to my Barry M nail paint collection: 'Raspberry'.

I painted them last night with this little beauty and instantly fell in love. It's such a lovely autumn colour, a deep red shade with purple/brown tones to it. I was really impressed with the pigmentation of this too - Barry M paints never fail to disappoint me but i really did only need one coat with this to get a decent opaque finish (I still went for two as i feel it makes it last longer).

(Apologies for my shabby painting and short, stubby nail - as i've explained before - working in a shoe shop really doesn't do kind things for your talons!)

I normally shy away from deeper colours but i just think this is such a beautiful shade (i want a lipstick this colour but im not sure if i can pull it off, so for now i will stick with the nail polish!). It looks different in various lights. Under normal/natural light it shows up the colour in the photo above, but in extreme bright lighting it looks a brilliant bright cherry red:

It is such a rich shade of red thats really on trend this season, and it's perfect for this time of year too.

Anyway, i hope you've all had a slightly brighter day than myself!

Things ive learnt today:
1. Friends are always there for you (unlike my bloody bus!)
2. Don't smile at moody looking bus drivers, they will only scowl back.
3. Don't bother styling your hair when it's raining

And with that, i'm off to make myself a cuppa!
